NEH K-12 Educator Summer Institute 2025: Reimagining the US/Mexico Border through Multimodal Storytelling

Monday, June 23, 2025 | 08:00 am - 12:00 pm
University of the New Mexico
About:
In this 2025 NEH Summer Institute, K-12th grade educators representing diverse contexts will use the power of storytelling to investigate the U.S.-Mexican border. By interweaving multimodalities – visual, sound, and movement and by reading children's literature deeply, participants will create complex narrative tapestries of experience and empathy on the border that they will, in turn, use to support student conversations and conceptions.
This institute is open to all primary and secondary educators working in: Prek-12th grade school settings, visual arts, theatre, and music educators, miseums, libraries, and community organizations.
Hybrid Institute (3 virtual workshops) & in-person at UNM June 23 - 27, 2025.
