LAII Releases Over 70 Podcasts Via SoundCloud
December 7, 2015
The LAII announces its latest endeavor to connect scholarship and social media: a database of over 70 podcasts available for streaming through SoundCloud. Since 2010, the LAII has worked with invited scholars and affiliated faculty to record and digitally disseminate podcasts of exciting Latin Americanist and Iberianist research. As of this term, all of the 70+ recordings we've collected are now available on SoundCloud, an audio-based social media platform that facilitates searching, browsing, and listening. Below are a few highlights. To access the complete collection, browse the LAII's podcast page or go directly to #UNMLAII on SoundCloud.
The most recent recordings are of Fall 2015 events, many held in partnership with campus and community partners.
In addition to individual lectures, the LAII has compiled playlists to simplify listening to the collected recordings of the LAII's Richard E. Greenleaf Visiting Library Scholars and symposia such as Africans and Their Descendants in the Early Modern Ibero-American World, Authority and Identity in Colonial Ibero-America, and 1920s to 2020s: To Hollywood and Back: Latin American Cinema & Gender in a Global Context.
Special thanks are due to LAII graduate assistant Kalyn Finnell for her assistance with this project.
