LAII Trip to Cuba Explores Arts and Culture

November 11, 2014

In March 2015, the Latin American & Iberian Institute (LAII) will partner with UNM Continuing Education (CE) to lead a People-to-People community trip to Cuba to explore its arts and culture. After being virtually closed off from the US for more than 50 years, Cuba and its people capture our imagination.

Join us as we learn about the art, culture, and ways of life of Cuba as we meet and interact with its citizens. This 7-day trip (March 21-28, 2015) will feature discussions with working artists and leaders in community-led dance, music, environmental and agricultural programs. Participants will experience museums, the beautiful architecture of Old Havana, and the biosphere reserve of Pinar del Rio.

For more information, download the Arts and Culture in Cuba guide. For questions or comments, please contact either (I) Marie McGhee, Senior Program Manager, at mmcghee@unm.edu or (505) 277-6320 or (II) Amanda Wolfe, Associate Director for Programs, at akwolfe@unm.edu or (505) 277-7044.

An information session will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at 6:00 p.m. in UNM Continuing Education, South Building, Room 107.
