Barbara Blaha Degler, also known as Barbara Pfeiler, is a linguist and anthropologist who has studied Mayan culture and languages since 1980. Barbara works as a Senior Researcher at the Centro Peninsular en Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales - Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México in Mérida Yucatán. As Chair of Mexico Studies at UNM, she is particularly interested in sharing her knowledge of Mayan language acquisition with students and dedicating her research to documenting children's indigenous languages.
