In March 2022, The University of New Mexico’s Latin American & Iberian Institute (LAII) hosted a free professional development workshop to explore how to incorporate the concepts of Latinx Futurisms, imagination, and the reality of the US- Mexíco border into their classroom teaching.

Curricula and hands-on activities were offered using the art of the 516 ARTS’ exhibitions MIGRATORY and When The Dogs Stop Barking as an inspiration.

This workshop was created in partnership with 516 ARTS and UNM Art Education. This workshop was also co-listed at the New Mexico Art Education Association Conference.
