Anthropology
With Anthropology as their area of concentration, Latin American Studies students can productively explore histories of colonial transformation in the social systems, cultural practices, and spoken languages among indigenous peoples in Latin America. They are also able to address and analyze the contemporary politics of culture and language in Latin America, especially among but not exclusively with diverse indigenous peoples and social formations. The Anthropology concentration also facilitates LAS students’ study of cultural production both materialist and ideational, systems of value, and the dynamic use and transformation of resources across Latin America.
