Fulbright Distinguished Scholar Awarded to Dr. Rosa Vallejos Yopán

Congratulations to UNM Linguistics Professor and LAII-affiliated faculty Dr. Rosa Vallejos Yopán for receiving the prestigious Fulbright Distinguished Scholar Award! She will travel to the Peruvian Amazon and Brazil to advance her groundbreaking research on Amazonian languages—such as Secoya and Amazonian Spanish—working directly with indigenous communities. Her decades-long commitment to Amazonian language documentation is being recognized on an international scale, supporting academic progress while empowering local communities.
