Meet AY FLAS awardee, Sebastian Cardenas. Sebastian is in his second year of his Masters in Latin American Studies. He is studying advanced Nahuatl. Sebastian reflects that “as a Latin American Studies master’s student concentrating on Indigeneity in the Americas, I felt that studying Modern Nahuatl could help supplement my learning and allow me to experience new cultures and perspectives that would otherwise be unavailable to me.”
