Dr. Javier Elí Astorga Dissertation Defense

Congratulations to Dr. Javier Elí Astorga! for his outstanding dissertation defense today at The University of New Mexico - UNM!  Javier’s dissertation is titled “El presidio hispano-colonial: estudio del discurso moderno de fortificación del imperio español hacia Norteamérica y el Caribe a través de sus planos y mapas,”. In addition to this remarkable achievement, Javier has embarked on a new role at UNM as Interim Associate Director and Visiting Lecturer III at the International Studies Institute. He is also sharing his knowledge this semester by teaching World Regional Geography in the Department of Geography & Environmental Studies.
