LAII Builds Online Community
November 11, 2013
The LAII is dedicated to building a vibrant and thriving community of Latin Americanists at the University of New Mexico and in the broader state. As such, we are continuously expanding our efforts to bring together faculty, students, staff, and community. We are excited to announce that as part of this effort we are holding a campaign to build our online community through Facebook.
The past year has seen the LAII intensely working to build our online community based on suggestions from focus groups. As part of that effort, we significantly expanded the LAII website and developed the LAII's weekly email digest.
Now the LAII has begun to develop more interactive means of communicating with its many affiliates, namely social media networks such as Facebook, YouTube, Flickr, LinkedIn, and others. In the upcoming weeks we will further explain these varied spaces and invite you to connect and share with us through these new media.
For the moment, we have focused our attention on Facebook as we implement a campaign which is intended to generate a wider audience for the LAII's Facebook page. We invite you to join us in this campaign by "Liking" our page. Facebook is not only a means for us to share information, but more importantly a way for our community members to engage with us and each other.
Like us on Facebook and become a part of this interactive digital community of Latin Americanists!
