Melissa Binder


Associate Professor Melissa Binder received an appointment in the Department of Economics at The University of New Mexico in 1995. She has recently taught an undergraduate course on Latin American development and has research and policy interests in the areas of labor market, educational equity, and health, and income security. She is also the director of The Evaluation Lab, a two-semester course sequence that provides students with hands-on evaluation and policy training in coordination with local non-profit organizations. Additionally, as the Director of the Master in Public Policy program at UNM, she works towards training students to become professional policy analysts for government agencies, non-profit advocacy and research groups, and private firms.
