Associate Professor Eva Rodríguez-González received an appointment in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at The University of New Mexico in 2014. Currently she is the coordinator of the Spanish as a Second Language Program at UNM, and also teaches at the undergraduate and graduate level. Her classes have focused on basic linguistic knowledge, classroom-based research as a method, the fundamental principles of effective Spanish language instruction, and other topics. Rodríguez-González specializes in second language acquisition, psycholinguistics, bilingualism, and foreign language pedagogy. Her main areas of research are classroom-based language learning, and cognitive approaches to language acquisition.
