Bill Fleming
Professor William (Bill) Fleming received an appointment in the School of Architecture and Planning at The University of New Mexico in 1991 following a career as an environmental engineer and hydrologist. He teaches courses within the school’s Community and Regional Planning program, where he also coordinates the concentration in natural resources and environmental planning. In addition to his work within the U.S., Fleming has served as a consultant and conducted research in Honduras, Mexico, and Ecuador, and has contributed to water-resource management policies and water resources economic development projects throughout Latin America. Fleming’s courses focus on environmental planning, with a special interest in watershed management, for both undergraduate and graduate students. His current research involves the impacts of climate change in northern New Mexico, ecosystem services provided by acequia systems, and modeling the benefits of green space in Albuquerque.
