Offered in coordination with the Albuquerque Museum's “Dictatorship and the Disappeared” exhibit, Dr's. Cosse and Herrán Ávila will discuss the emergence, operation, ideology, and social relations of left- and right-wing radical political groups in Cold War Latin America. In a conversation moderated by UNM Professor of History Liz Hutchison, these historians will go beyond the usual approaches to Latin American radicalism to examine how forces of religion, sexuality, family formation, and ideology shaped these radical groups’ formation and impact.
