¡Agua es vida! Water is life is a saying in the arid mountain deserts of NM. In this region the musical arts and
theater have been an important source of inspiration within the growing land based acequia movement. Dabi
García will give a testimonio of their involvement in this movement conceptually using the concepts of “dando
segunda” and “singing out of tune,” as local ways of building knowledge.
