Crush's research will examine the impact of political turmoil on the cultural lives of young, independent artists in Lima, Perú. With the rising number of young artists and high social media presence in Perú, they have chosen this demographic to better understand artist responses to political repression. In order to further this project, Crush will first engage in preliminary research by studying art in response to political repression between the 1970s to today within the libraries and archives of the Museo de Arte de Lima (MALI), Museo de Arte Contemporánea (MAC), and the Biblioteca Mario Vargas Llosa in the Casa de Literatura.
