Angela's research project is focused on children during the last military dictatorship in Argentina, 1976-1983. The National Reorganization Process produced various propagandistic campaigns that were meant to showcase the progress that the military junta had made. In this respect, Angela is interested in understanding how the ideology of the dictatorship was visually and textually translated for children. How do the values and ideas of the National Reorganization Process manifest in children’s literary and visual mediums under the Argentine dictatorship? She also seeks to better understand what it was like to be a child during the dictatorship, and, if possible, get a grasp of how children and their families reacted to, embraced, or rejected the messages conveyed by these materials.
