Angela Ronces-Cortes

Angela graduated from the University of Puget Sund in Tacoma, Washington, with a B.A. in Latino Studies, alongside Latin American Studies and Interdisciplinary Humanities emphasis, focusing on race and ethnicity. In addition, she also studied and majored in Music. She received the Latin American Heritage Leadership and the Our America’s award. During her undergrad, Angela conducted a summer research project on the Protest Music created during the 1968 Student Movement in Mexico City, and the artists who documented its history after. Angela also studied abroad in Mexico City, Mexico and Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Angela is currently pursuing a masters in Latin American studies, focusing on history & society. She hopes to focus her research on Cold War Latin American, specifically highlighting the history of dictatorships during the era and the human rights violations in the Southern Cone.
