Urbanism and Community Development

The concentration in Urbanism and Community Development is designed for students who are interested in the professional practice of planning in a Latin American context or planning in relation to immigrant communities in the US. Students learn to assist Latin American and immigrant communities to create community-based plans and programs that sustain and enhance their culture, resource base, built environment and economic vitality. The program promotes participatory processes that respond to community identities and development needs.
