Administrative Assistant III

My name is Liz, and I mostly grew up in Albuquerque. I have sixteen years of administrative experience at UNM, and I truly enjoy figuring out how administrative processes work, and then filling in the details. My current position in the Latin American & Iberian Institute has proved to be highly interesting due to its interdisciplinary nature. As an administrative assistant, I support with evaluation and alumni tracking; collecting data for reports and grant proposals; coordinating logistics, including travel, for events; and help with record keeping. I am awed by the breadth of academic backgrounds and experience which LAII’s affiliated faculty bring to the institute, and what this means for students completing degrees in Latin American Studies at UNM.

I have lived in other states and in Saudi Arabia, and wherever I am I like to experience nature. Living in Albuquerque, I love to explore nature as much as I can, whether in the Rio Grande Bosque, or in the quiet spaces of the Sandia Mountains.  Here I’ve observed numerous and varied types of birds and bugs, flowers and fossils, critters and rocks. When I’m not out enjoying nature, I love to cook, read, or create drawings and collages.
