Dr. Joshua Shapero joined the Department of Anthropology in 2019. His research centers on the relationship between human culture and the natural world, how different understandings of the world are bound up with humans’ unique linguistic and cognitive abilities. His work features ethnographic, linguistic, and experimental fieldwork with Ancash Quechua speakers in the Peruvian Andes.
