LAII Welcomes Dr. Fernández as the 2025 Fulbright Mexico Studies Chair

Congratulations to Dr. Fernández for his new position as the 2025 Fulbright Mexico Studies Chair. The position is co-sponsored by the Latin American and Iberian Institute and COMEXUS (Comisión México-Estados Unidos), who administers the Fulbright García-Robles awards. A distinguished Mexican researcher with a Ph.D. from Louisiana State University, Dr. Fernández specializes in the biogeography and molecular systematics of small mammals—particularly those inhabiting the desert environments and temperate forests of northwestern Mexico and the southwestern U.S.
