Brown Bag Lectures LIMON List-Serv Social Events

Brown Bag Lectures SOLAS hosts a one hour "Brown Bag" lecture or movie each week, usually at the LAII. Many of the brown bags are held Fridays at noon.

Scholars, activists, students and faculty are invited from inside and outside the UNM community.

Past brown bags have included:

  • Jose La Luz, "Los desafíos del movimiento obrero en las Américas: Renovación o Irrelevancia"
  • Blanca Figueroa, "Domestic Women Workers in Peru"
  • Ruben Palma, "The Trail We Leave: Experience of Culture Shock and Exile"
  • John Ross, "Zapatista Autonomy: Impacts on Indigenous Groups in Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador"

LIMON SOLAS publishes the quarterly newsletter, LIMON
(latin american and iberian multidisciplinary opinion newsletter).

LIMON was formally called Las Noticias Estudiantiles.

Students have the opportunity to write articles about their research, experiences, or other events related to Latin American Studies. LIMON is also a forum for students to comment on current SOLAS listserv discussions.

Currrently, there about 150 subscribers to LIMON.

You can check out back issues of Las Noticias Estudiantiles latest issue on-line.
We will update the webpage with the latest issues of LIMON ASAP.
