The University of New Mexico's Latin American and Iberian collections are among the strongest in the country. The collections are primarily overseen by the UNM University Libraries' (UL) Inter-American Studies Program, although substantial supplemental resources are also managed by the UL Center for Southwest Research and the College of Fine Art's Bunting Visual Resources Library.
Overall, UNM libraries contain extensive print collections in Latin American and Iberian content, as well as Chicano, Indigenous, and Southwest studies. Special collections comprise a unique, additional resource within these holdings. Recent endowments to the library promise to help grow UNM University Libraries' rich holdings of Latin American materials and related programming.
In addition to the holdings maintained by these centers, the Latin American and Iberian Institute (LAII) retains a separate collection of library resources in the LAII Reading Room.
