Latin American and Iberian Institute Research

LAII supports research and encourages scholarly collaboration and dialogue by offering a searchable database of expertise at UNM and LAII's former National Resource Center consortium partner NMSU, publications, an outstanding Latin America library collection and objective news reporting dating from 1986.

Research Funding Applications for field research grants are available for UNM faculty and students.

More than 100 faculty at UNM engage in research and teaching on Latin America.

LAII also has expert staff working on its various projects including engineering and technology transfer, Latin America journalism, study abroad programs, and outreach to K-12 teachers.
