2015 ¡Viva México! Artist Spotlights

Date:  Sunday 19th, July, 2015

Description:  Festival at El Rancho de las Golondrinas. Collaboratively organized by El Rancho de las Golondrinas and the Mexican Consulate in Albuquerque, ¡Viva México! promotes cultural exchange by celebrating Mexican musical, artistic, and culinary traditions from throughout Mexico. Each year the event attracts thousands who are drawn to learn about Mexico's cultural heritage. A highlight of the festival are the visiting artisans who come from states throughout Mexico to share their knowledge and distribute their artesanía. In 2015, the LAII partnered with the Mexican Consulate to learn more about the artists and their work. This video interview is the result of that partnership and was produced in support of the LAII's Culture Box program, which seeks to promote cultural knowledge and global competency among New Mexico students.
