The LAII's Latin America Data Base (LADB) is a premier English language Latin America news service. LADB's journalists collect Spanish language source material from Latin America and publish weekly bulletins in English, placing events in context and highlighting key developments. All active teachers are eligible to receive free access to the complete LADB archives and current digests. To learn more, please see the LADB's subscription guidelines.
In addition to supporting free access for teachers, the LAII also promotes the use of Latin American events in the classroom by writing corresponding curriculum units called News in the Classroom. These units offer a brief, accessible way to enhance students' critical thinking and reading comprehension through discussion of current news.
