Dr. Matías Fontenla is the new Chair of the Department of Economics

Professor of Economics and Affiliated Faculty at the LAII, Dr. Matías Fontenla is the new chair of The University of New Mexico's Department of Economics. In his more than two decades as part of the Lobo pack, Dr. Fontenla has held several leadership roles, including serving as associate director of the Latin American and Iberian Institute. His priorities as the chair of the department include supporting faculty success and strengthening the student experience.
