She has over ten years of experience as a professor in various important universities in Ecuador, including the Central University of Ecuador where she is currently working as Professor. Additionally, she has over 30 years of experience in areas such as computing science, project management, teaching and virtual tutoring for several institutions of the public and private sectors in Ecuador.

Yolanda is pursuing her PhD in Latin American Studies with concentrations in International Management and Built Environment. She would like to focus on doing research related to the areas of management and community planning. She plans to apply her knowledge acquired at UNM and experience by investigating the specific issues related to both areas in her country, in order to look for feasible solutions that allow for the improvement of quality life and well-being of Ecuadorians, especially of the most needed, disadvantaged and poorest people.

Yolanda is grateful for this opportunity of professional and academic growth to the Central University of Ecuador and to The University of New Mexico. She wants to continue learning and transmitting her knowledge and research results to her students and her audience.
