Event Funding Request

Guidelines for Requesting Funds for Programs and Events:

The LAII, through its Operations Committee, funds lectures, presentations or discussions that promote scholarly activities closely related to Latin America and Iberia. Requests for funding should be submitted at least one month prior to the date of the event.  While other submissions may be considered, they are less likely to receive funding than those submitted with sufficient notice.   The LAII Operations Committee will not provide retroactive funding for events that have already taken place. The Committee will provide up to $500.00 for an event.

Funding Criteria:
  1. Relevance to Latin America or Iberia
  2. Number likely to attend and from what disciplines/communities
  3. Linkages across campus
  4. Number of co-sponsors
  5. Quality of speaker(s)
  6. Benefit to off-campus community
  7. Clear explanation of funds requested (e.g. $350 for airfare, $100 lodging and expenses, $50 publicity)
  8. Inclusion of total budget for event, if request is for a portion of that total.
Application Instructions:
