Students pursuing an M.A., Ph.D. or dual degree in the LAII's Latin American Studies program may be considered for a graduate assistantship. Typically, graduate assistantships are awarded to incoming students who demonstrate outstanding academic promise. The assistantship provides a stipend and health insurance and a waiver of tuition and fees. Recipients are limited to two years of funding. In the rare event that a graduate assistantship becomes available, currently enrolled students may be considered. Applicants who meet the priority deadline for Fall admission consideration (February 1st) are evaluated for both admission and graduate assistantship funding (no additional application for the graduate assistantship is necessary). Unfortunately, students who apply for Spring admission are not considered for graduate assistantships.
