Semester Exchanges in Latin America

Expenses

Under the one-on-one exchange option, UNM students pay full-time tuition prior to departure, and may use existing UNM scholarships and financial aid. Students are responsible for all travel, housing, medical insurance, books, and incidental expenses.

Requirements

Applicants must have an excellent knowledge of Spanish (equivalent to 5 semesters or 50-60 credit hours; Spanish test required), and a minimum 3.0 GPA. You should be about a Freshman or have 50-60 credit hours.

Students will receive UNM credit upon transfer of credits from the host university.

Student exchange positions will be available on a trimester basis at the Universidad Simon Bolivar in Caracas, Venezuela. Trimesters run September-December, January-March, and April-July. Students may attend for one-three trimesters. Students should have an excellent knowledge of Spanish.
